Lucky Thekisho is the sole Director of the firm and is an admitted attorney holding a BLC, LLB and LLM (Labour Law) degrees from the University of Pretoria including certificates in Advanced Labour Law, Human Resources, Legislative Drafting, Environmental Law and Compliance. Mr. Thekisho has over fifteen years working experience in the public and private sector, about ten of which were in executive management position in various capacities as Deputy Commissioner: Employee Relations and Legal Services respectively at the Department of Correctional Services, Principal State Law Advisor in the Office of the Premier Northern Cape (Provincial Administration) as well as Head of Ministry/Chief of Staff in the Office of the Premier Northern Cape (Provincial Administration). In addition, Mr. Thekisho has worked as Students Affairs Advisor to the Registrar of University of Pretoria as well as Provincial Organizer of Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU). Looking at legal issues from a cost/benefit analysis allows us to provide indispensable counsel at the initial phase of representation determining whether or not to pursue legal action. We enjoy having a varied practice which tends to present new and interesting challenges every day. Noma-Gcina was a Senior Manager in the Deloitte Risk Advisory, Forensic division from 2015 to 2018. She worked as a Forensic Investigator, conducting investigations of fraud and corruption in both the private and public sector. Prior to joining Deloitte, she completed her articles of clerkship at Legal Aid South Africa’s Pretoria Justice Centre and was admitted as an attorney in 2015. At the Legal Aid, she was responsible for over 130 civil files which included a significant amount of research and drafting. These included divorces – opposed and unopposed, evictions, marriage annulments, money claims, guardianship applications, administration of deceased estates, various High Court applications and other civil matters. She also attended to criminal matters in district courts in Pretoria. She conducted trials and drafted pleas, made formal representations, negotiated for alternative dispute resolution and diversion for suitable candidates. She normally handled between 15 and 20 criminal matters at a time. In addition to these responsibilities, she assisted the High Court Unit in maintaining their database of criminal appeals and made applications for records of proceedings from the court a quo.

Before joining the Legal Aid, she served as a candidate attorney at Lingerfelder & Baloyi Incorporated, focusing on drafting of commercial contracts and MOI (memoranda of incorporation) from February 2014 to July 2014. She handled numerous files in litigation involving Road Accident Fund claims, divorces in the High Court. She also handled land claims, letters of demand for various civil claims (based on contracts or common law), personal injury claims, summons (simple and combined) and notices of motions, default judgments, and civil appeals.

Prior to commencing her articles of clerkship, Noma-Gcina headed up the implementation section of Business Intelligence and MIS in the Sales division at Momentum from August 2007 to January 2014. Her job entailed pioneering the implementation of a BI solution for Momentum Retail (QlikView). During her time at Momentum, she served on the Employment Equity Forum in Momentum Retail from 2008 to June 2013. She also sat on the Retail Executive Committee at Momentum for 2 years (November 2008 to November 2010).

Noma-Gcina also worked at Standard Bank’s Africa Division from January 2006 to July 2007. Her role was to design and deliver business solutions to business units in the Africa Division. This included the maintenance and standardisation of data requirements for Standard Bank Africa that provided accurate, relevant and current information to all areas of its businesses and aligning to the requirements of Group, Global Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) and Global Personal and Business Banking (PBB). She worked on the implementation of segmentation of the bank across Africa, bringing in other sources of client data into MIS to get a single view of customers, and implementation of Cognos as the reporting and analysis tool in Africa.

Noma-Gcina had originally joined the Pretoria office of Deloitte in 2000, and was the lead developer of the data analysis tool to identify indicators of fraud and anomalous transactions. She spent three years from 2002 to 2005 in the Deloitte practice in Dallas, Texas in the USA, where she was tasked with rolling out the fraud detection system she had developed while at the South African practice. She successfully rolled out the tool, training colleagues across the USA and conducted training in Edmonton, Canada, and as a result of the success, conducted further training in London and India in 2005.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Noma-Gcina had worked as an IT developer at the Reserve Bank of South Africa (1997 – 2000) and as a System Owner Analyst at First National Bank (1996 – 1997).

Noma-Gcina is a well rounded analytical professional, who is a passionate litigator and whose mission is to achieve justice.

Her Skills includes:

Mr. Motha is an admitted Attorney of the High Court who completed his articles at Molusi MD Attorneys in Pretoria from 18 October 2016 to 18 October 2017. His duties comprised the following: Drafting of Summonses & Notices of motion; Legal opinions; Contracts; Requests for Default and Summary Judgments; Affidavits & Supplementary Affidavits; Court Appearances; Attendance to default judgment queries; Indexing and Paginating of documents; Servicing and filing of relevant documents; Billing and invoicing of clients.

Prior to the completion of his LLB Mr. Motha was Employed at the SAPS as Brigadier Section Head: Intelligence support Centre from 2013 to 2014. His duties were to co-ordinate the receiving and dissemination of all information and intelligence within the crime intelligence environment and to provide intelligence to support projects and operations.

He’s duties also included the provision of management of information service for the ICAC (Intelligence Collection Analysis Co-ordination). Mr. Motha also served as a Deputy Director; Provisioning Administration at the SAPS Supply Chain Management Directorate. His duties included but not limited to Acquisition and Demand Management.

In January 2017 Mr. Motha opened his own practice, practicing under the name and style of Motha Attorneys Inc. As a Director of Motha Attorneys Inc. he focused his practice around Criminal Law, Bail Applications, Civil Litigation, Wills and Estates, Family Law, Maintenance, Labour Disputes, Contract Drafting.
